I have a serious Question for those searching?

Stranger things have happened, but I would find that hard to believe. In order for "Missouri" to change the dates, there would need to be a conspiracy among government officials, employees, and hospital employees. Even if someone wanted just 1 date changed, it would require the knowledge of more than one person since there are records in at least 2 places, possibly more. Bottom line, it would be difficult to do without being detected, and I can't see a motive. Rumors do get started though, and if they show up often enough, in enough different places, people begin to believe them. One example of how a rumor may be spread is if an honest mistake was made on a birth certificate, and as the story gets told from one person to the next, it gets changed here and there. By the time it reaches the last person, we have a whole conspiracy involving other countries and identities for sale and the president condones it all. Best of luck in your search. Warmly heartbeat

I believe it would depend on which decade the adoptee was born, which agency handle the adoption. It was not unheard of decades ago to find out that the date of birth had been altered by a day or two, maybe even a month. This practice was to "protect the child". This was probably common in all states during the 1930's, 40's and maybe even 50's. Do not believe it was wide spread. You may not be able to find her because she isn't herself looking. Also, some adoptive parents never told the children they were adopted. If I remember from your post this birth was near Kansas City which could mean an adoption in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska or Iowa. I would keep my post current and do not change your contact info in case some time in the future she starts to look.
