Hi! We are non-relative temporary custodians to a newborn. Mom used several drugs during pregnancy and mom and baby tested pos. for them all at birth. The family couldn't/wasn't allowed (versions of the story depends on who you talk to!) to take baby. They approached us, we are family friends.Well, we would love to adopt if biomom can't get clean and stay clean.Technically we aren't in the foster care system yet. We are started classes soon.So, does anyone have experience in this type of situation? What are are rights? How often can people get clean off of crack cocaine?
