Hi Everyone!
I am new to this forum. I am trying to help my husband find his birth family. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on April 20, 1963 (at least that is what his birth certificate indicates). Volunteers of America handled the adoption. We do not have very much information because his adoptive mother will not give him any details other than his birth mother was very sweet.
We are not sure where to turn because the Volunteers agency no longer handles adoptions, so we do not know where to get even the basic information, like a non-id history. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thank you!
Hi , how much do you know about your husbands birth parents? Since the agency is closed maybe ( I am not sure )the State of Florida can help you and your husband with non id , he may be a good candidate for a court order unsealing of records.Have you registered with FARR and ISRR? If not and you are not sure what these are just ask I will post the information here for you.
On another note if he by chance was brought up in a family where his adoptive parents also have biological children with the total number of children (now adults)in his family being around six children ( we have been told by a case work 4 sons 2 daughters born between 1968-1975 ish) ) please contact me. We Know my husbands birth mother adopted children years after relinquishing him in 1958. So we think and feel one of the children she adopted will one day search for their bio parents and this may be the way we find her... Good Luck to you.

Hi, My name is Marcie, and I'm searching for a sibling. All I know is that my mother was young and that she had a son in 63 that she gave up for adoption. I have been told by family that the adoption was is Tampa, Jacksonville, and Orlando... I dont know. Maybe we could talk.
