we have a fs that is going to be 13 years old - he may be tpr'd soon. My situation is that is is 2 years behind in school - which means he will not graduate (provided he is not held back anymore) until he is 19 to 20 years old. However, the adoption subsidy is supposed to be until 18 years of age...
my question is are there provisions to extend subsidies under these circumstances?
thanks
val :)
Hi Val~
Interesting questions -- something I haven't even thought about.
We are foster parents (well, I say that but FS has yet to move in full time with us!) to a 13 yo. We are fostering to adopt.
He too is behind - and won't complete school until he is 19 (that's as long as he doesn't fall any farther behind).
We haven't started the process of our adoption subsidy negotiations - but it's something I will bring up as well.
Best wishes to you and your family.
We are soon moving to Fla. next week from Pa! We started the interstate compact for FS to move with us - but it's looking like it won't get done in time. SIGH!

We are moving to North Port - Sarasota County. I am hoping that Florida will honor most of our homestudy here - so that M can move with us quicker. I know they will need to check our new home - and I will have to do the Mapp classes but I just really want to get M down there with us ASAP. Lots of prayers needed!
YOU GOT 'EM.
I think that I heard that there is an extension available. I do believe I was told that by a UFF worker at the last FPO meeting.
Good Luck and GOD BLESS
