The details of the adoption were that my aunt Kathleen Theresa Gilligan Birth 25 August 1910 in Tibohine, Frenchpark, Roscommon, Ireland Death 24 November 2007 in Belleville, Essex, New Jersey, USA gave birth to a child out of wedlock sometime in the early 1930's following her arrival to this country on May 27,1929 and prior to her marriage to John Carney in 1937. The father of the child's surname was Sharkey. The birth was believed to have occurred at a maternity home in Newark. The name of this home was that of a German sounding surname. She may even just lived there and gave birth in a hospital nearby.this was not known. That is all I have regarding this matter.
