My husband and I just went through step parent adoption process. My husband adopted my 2 children from previous relationship, we had the tpr hearing AUG 4th and it was granted and they also granted the adoption to go through the very same day! Does anyone know if the BF can still appeal after its been finalized by the judge? I know most states wait 30 days been tpr and adoption finalization to allow the 30 day appeal time for the BF but in our case BF had to testify on the stand (i did too) and he confessed to everything which was him abandoning the children for 15 months without a reason other than he just wanted to! But my mother has spoke with him since Aug 4th and he said he was trying to appeal it! I was just wondering if that is possible for him to do now? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced!
Jacquline,
He can try and appeal the decison, that is his right. But most judges will not overturn an adoption.
