I am so sad reliving the events of 5 years ago. I remember every detail of finding out, trying to get home from work and trying to find all of my family members. My cousin entered those buildings with 3 other men. He is the only one still alive and he is permanently disabled and lost his career. My friend, lost her best friend on Earth and another family friend was lost, who was my age. Over 100 were buried from the Church that is affiliated with the high school that I graduated from.
Since then, I have made changes in my life, including finding my daughter. On Friday, I watched the news report of all of the children born right after 9/11/01, who never met their fathers. I sobbed looking at those children and realizing that many of them were the same age as my daughter, who was born in October 2001. It is so sad that children around the world are so proufoundly hurt by the actions of adults.
Please everyone take time to remember what these events mean to this country and to all of the families that were directly impacted.
And, please keep in your thoughts Bobby - may he find peace in his new life and career - Ruth and Suzanne.

Remembering all we lost and their families. Special prayers going out to your Bobby.
DH actually was on a plane that left Newark that very morning. It took about 20 minutes for me to know that he was safe and had been rerouted to a small airport in Louisana. It was a tremendously long 20 minutes. I cant imagine how difficult it is for the families who lost their loved ones.

On an adoption note, we started explaining 9/11 to our 9 year old daughter who has been home just under a year now. She started asking questions after a recent Disney channel movie involving 9/11. We live in Staten Island and often take the ferry into Manhatten, so we were able to show her where the buildings stood. She is still asking questions. How many people died? Who did this? Were you there? With all the learning and catching up our daughter has done this past year, it is so profundly sad to now be catching her up about 9/11. It is a part of our national and local history, so we are doing the best we can.
All who were lost are in my thoughts and prayers. A girl that graduated two years behing me in high school was a flight attendant on the second plane to hit the towers. Tomorrow, I will take a moment of silence in her memory. She was a beautiful person, a friend to everyone. She is very much missed by all who knew and loved her. Julie

My story, September 11,2001 holds many memories for me and my family. Not only did the US experience great tragedy but my son was fighting for his life. He was born on September 4, we were told he wouldnt make it through the night, one week later on 9-11 they told us he would grow to be a healthy boy and he has. The tragedy that struck the US didnt hit me when it happened, I remember feeling sad that so many families had lost there loved ones but at that moment I was wrapped up in trying to get my baby well enough to come home. It was only after he came home from the hospital 2 weeks later that it all "hit" me, we lost so much on that day as a country yet in that month I had gained so much, I have been blessed and I thank God everyday!Always remembered and Never forgotten!

I recall my husband running into the bedroom and waking me up yelling, you are not going to believe this honey, get up!!! He was just horrified about what happend!!!!
I will never forget that day as long as I live!
From my family to yours, our thoughts and prayers go out to all that lost loved ones that day! May you find peace to give you comfort!
Blessings, to all!
