:grr: I'm a birth mom looking for my son 40 years old. 14 years ago I registered in the NY state Information Registry but have not known where else to go. What else can I do . Where can I go for more information. What are the steps I have to take. Praying dosen't seem to be enough. I have to be active about this. I can't just sit back and wait any longer. Please help.

I gave my son up in Florida in 1965.

He found me on the net in 1999.. late 1999.

What I did first (early nineties) was contact the state of Florida and found out where I could put my open for contact letter or register with them..

Then I called the agency that handled the adoption.. I had to get a notary to sign a paper that said I am who I am..

Then I put a letter open for contact with the agency.. and I asked for the non identifying info..

I used that info when my bson contacted me on the net.. the info gave information on his aparents..

Keep a journal.. Write down what you have done..

What I did was put my info in every web search place I could find..

My bson (who was computer literate) decided one evening in late 1999 to search for me.. or to check out a Florida search web site..

I had been on that web site for years..

He said he was looking at his kids and decided he wanted to learn more about himself..
