Step parent adoption in El Dorado County help??

My husband and I have been married for 8 years and together for 10ݽ years. My oldest daughter is 11 years old. Her bio dad has never been in the picture. When she was 3 months old, I took her to see him. He denied that he was her father. He saw her that day and than I never heard from him again. That was over 11 years ago. No word, no support, nothing. His name is on the birth certificate. My husband is the only father she has ever known. He wants to adopt her, but I have no idea where to start. I am in El Dorado county. Thanks for any help!!!

Just give them a call most of the time they are nice and helpful you will probably have to fill out some forms and if you have no idea where the bio dad lives you will eventually have to place an ad. Some of the mom's here that have helped me like AJBSMom and crystaly you can go back and look at what they had to do that may help. Also the Nolo book (you can usually check it out from the library to get started) for California Step Adoptions is really helpful just remember it may not go step by step in your county the way it goes in that book.
