Help! My husband has unexpectedly been offered a job near Portland, Maine and we need to know if this area is adoption-friendly. We have two toddlers adopted from Guatemala late last year. This summer, we moved from Wisconsin to Michigan, and while we can hardly bear to think of moving again, the Maine job is a great opportunity in a great area. But we're worried that there are few others in Maine who have adopted from Guatemala. Both Wisconsin and Michigan have had such a broad and supportive international adoption community that we hesitate to leave them. Is there a similar support system in southern Maine? Is it a good place to raise Latino children? Please let us know as we have to make a decision quickly!!
