I'm only two weeks from my due date and still looking for a family for my baby. I really like the agency that i'm working with but it seems like they don't have a good choice of families! I'm wiccan and my boyfriend is jewish. I told the agency i didn't want a christian family to adopt. They said that that was too hard to find so they recommended a "spirtual family." I'm ok with this, I just want a family that is going to let the baby learn about the jewish religion and not force a religion on them.
The only family the agency found celebrated their daugthers first communion, it seems to me that they're more then just spirtual. I don't want to switch agencies but i don't know if i'm comfortable with the family choices. I really want a jewish family or non-religious family but fear that i'm running out of time to look. Any opinons on what i should do?
in my opinion if you arn't 100% sure of the family keep looking until you are even if that means going with a different agency. Is there an agency affiliated with the local Jewish community in your area?

Have you considered using an attorney as opposed to an agency? I know of three attornies who work only with Jewish families - and that is just in my home state. I would imagine there are others as well. Also, try looking into Jewish Family Services.
Don't settle, and don't let your agency pressure you into choosing a family you aren't comfortable with - this is YOUR choice.

I agree to whats been said here. Just because you have been using an agency - if they dont have access to the perfect adoptive parents for your child, you should continue looking. Don't settle. I would try looking online - many of the sites that have waiting families have search capabilities and perhaps you can search on religious beliefs.
Or as someone suggested, I would try calling some jewish faith based agencies or private attorneys.
Best of luck to you - I hope all goes well.
