As an adoptive dad, I was having problems understanding the birthparents' perspective on adoption.
I decided to look for a video or DVD that would help me understand birthparents, and came across one called The Giving. I got mine from [url=http://www.TheGiving.info]The Giving[/url] but I see you can get it from Amazon (under DVD, adoption). It was only $14.95...money very well spent...I've watched it a bunch of times, and shown it to family and friends who love it.
This DVD does an AMAZING job of showing just how giving birthparents really are...shows where the struggles are, and just what a selfless sacrifice is being made. It really changed my perspective a lot. I've talked to an adoption social worker who saw it, and she said that even with 20 years working in this field she'd not seen a documentary that was so real.
Does anyone have any other good recommendations for DVDs or videos?
