Hi, I'm curious, how open is Fla to adoption from out of state. I saw several kids whose listing stated they'd be open to 'all families', so I'm assuming that includes single fathers. The reason for the question: I've heard that some states will say they're open to Out of State, only to throw up numerable barriers that don't happen with adoption by citizens. David

I've found that your home state most likely won't be overly excited about you adopting out of state. Their mentality is they have enough kids so why not adopt here. Also, the paperwork is doubled for them and it makes for endless headaches. You'd think they'd want to do it for the kids, it just doesn't work that way. My wife and I tried out of state adoption and our agency is just unwilling to help, though they'd tell you a different story. Good luck.
