I thought this would be a neat idea.
I am an adoptee living in the Grandbury area. I was born in San Antonio and raised in Ft. Worth.
It would be neat to meet other people from Texas who are on the forums.
WooooooooHooooooooo! We went out for a bit, my with the stifling 86 degrees my boys thought it was hot!
I guess it did feel hot compared to how it has been lately!

There was some bright light coming from the sky today...and the sky was blue! I wasn't sure what it was but I had to stand in it. D'oh! That's right, it's called the sun. It has been gone for so long I forgot how good it feels!!! ROFL!!!
amen! I am like Bajj, I went to Target at lunch today and got caught in the parking lot talking to my boss' wife for about 10 minutes... I thought I was going to have a heat stroke! Then I got in my car and the outside temp was 86! ugh, what am I going to do when it's 105? It sure was nice to see some sun though!

Hey everyone! I grew up in Bedford (just east of Fort Worth)Lived in Arlington and Fort Worth. Now I live in East Texas~south of Tyler and am looking for a local support group! Any East Texans out there?
a little late posting this, but we're in plano. nice to see a few people are nearby. we're looking into adopting from ethiopia.
Hi, I just found this site today. I am hoping that someone who has been around the block a few times can help me with my situation. It is a little different from the ones that I have read here.
My brother gave his son up for adoption at birth. The reason is sad, like most. Anyway, my parents knew this girls family quit well. When she asked my mom to not inter-fer with them at all, my mother honored her wishes, all these years. Even tho my mom tried everything possible to keep my brother in the picture and not lose this grandchild.
When the b/mothers mom died, she called my mom and asked her not to come to the funeral, which of course my mom honored. She told my mom that her husband (the stepfather) is the reason that she never told the boy he is adopted by him. She told my mom that her husband was in poor health and not expected to live long.
Well I kinda figured she was pulling one and she was. The boy; now a married man with kids, still does not know the truth. Now my mother is on her death bed and I would like to let this Man know he has another extended family who would like to know him if HE wants.
There is also the problem of medical issues and information that is imperative for him to know for his self and the kids as it is genetic. I don't know what the b/mom has told this kid, because he has since graduating school and then college had an unlisted phone number, and I can't find any property in this location in his name.
There where times when I could have stopped him walking home from school, believe it or not we only live 2 blocks apart, one street over from them. Back when he was growing up. Yet I never approached him, knowing it would upset my mom, because she had given her word. Now I wish I had. (sort of, I would never want to hurt my mom). She has been a foster mom for years and even tried to adopt two kids from the same parents, even while she and dad have seven of us.
I payed an on line service to locate him and got an address that was like 15 years old, when he was in college! I can't afford a private detective, so I don't know how to find someone who seems invisible.
I am sorry this is so long, but I don't know any other way to do it. If you know some steps I could be taking, I would really appriciate it, if you have any advice on the situation, that would be appriciated too.
Thank you and God Bless
If you think you can help me please e-mail me. Oh ya, we live in Bryan/College Station, TX
