Is anyone located in Central PA? There are Pittsburgh and Philly groups. I'm in West-Central PA, in Jennerstown, PA. Anyone from Altoona, Johnstown, State College, etc?

15 year olds can be such fun! I have a friend who actually adopted a young man in his 20s and boasted that she'd avoided the teenage years too! My oldest grandson will be 15 this month (scary thought!) Of course my birth son will be 37 this year (now that's really scary!!!)It sounds like both you and your husband have long commutes! What do you do? If you've read the thread, you've probably picked up on the fact that I am a pastor. I currently serve two small congregations. I moved to my current call in January of this year. I've complicated my life recently by (1) adopting a puppy (my husband is thrilled!) and (2) breaking my ankle- actually my fibula where it connects to the ankle. Both have slowed me down a bit. My puppy thinks I am a chew toy.I travel 322 a fair amount since my 15 year old grandson lives in Lewistown. Tell me about your son - what does he like to do?I currently live in Williamstown (You've probably never heard of it... it's in Upper Dauphin Co. on the edge of Schulkill Co.
Yep, 15 so far has been a ball.... He'll be 16 in August, so my husband and I are already calling him our designated driver  . He is working at the dropzone we work at every weekend, editing videos and packing my parachute for me, so he's enjoying making a little money as well.
What kind of puppy did you adopt? We have 3 dogs, all rescues as well.
I hope your ankle heals fast!!!
I'm an eye doctor, and my husband is recently unemployed. So now he's working with a temp agency for no benefits and 1/3 the pay (what crappy timing!) I'm working 6-7 days a week to pick up the slack. He'll be going to HACC soon to get an Associates Degree.
If you drive 322 a lot, you can spit on our house from there if the wind is blowing the right direction. We're about a mile off the Newport exit.

Hi, Rkirby and Jbee,I grew up in Waynesboro and although I'm now in upper Dauphin Co., I know Franklin Co. pretty well.Peregrinerose, I know what you are going through. My husband was a high school teacher; now he substitutes and makes less than 1/4 what he used to make (if we're lucky). The puppy is a miniature schnauzer. He's 4 months old. He's going to be a good dog when he grows up a little. Right now it's like having a two year old in the house. My ankle is now plated and screwed together so it's going to be a fairly long recovery I think.
