The Zoo is practically in my backyard! (OK 1.5 miles away) We could have a picnic at the zoo or we could come to my house after for dinner. I have an enclosed trampoline. The kids love it.
Sounds great! Can't wait for some warmer weather!

DPline...I've never been to Jungle Java...would the mommies have a chance to talk there or would we have to be chasing our 3 year olds around???
I'm trying to think of somewhere we could meet and actually get to talk, too...but it might me we have to do a mom's night out to get to know each other better!!!! I'm always up for going out!!!
Hi! We're in Ferndale! I haven't been on the Michigan Families site in a little while, but they usually plan a spring outting to the zoo. It was great last year, so I'd vote for something different. I love the zoo in the winter (it's quiet and all the animals are active), but there aren't a lot of indoor places for groups to gather and chat.

Kind of depends your 3-year-old. I met a Forum friend there a couple weeks ago and her kids and my son took off into the play structure and had a blast. My daughter clung on me and would only go in if I went with her. There is a smaller area for kids 3 and under (or for those less adventurous as long as they don't get to wild with the little ones.) So some chance to talk and some chasing (or moral support in my daughter's case. ;) ) which I think at least for me is going to be true most anywhere. You can take a look at their website junglejavaplay dot com and see what you think.
I am definetly up for a Mom's night out too! And I would have no problem hosting a playdate at our house too. We have 7 three and four-year-olds and one 15 month old in our weekly playgroup so I am used to having a crowd of preschoolers running around my house!
Gabri - Were you at the Michigan Families Detroit Zoo get together last spring? We were there, so if you were we must have met! I am up for the zoo during the winter if it isn't too cold. Below about 45/50 my kids complain they are cold no matter how warmly they are dressed!
Any other ideas anyone???
Guess I should have read this first before I pm'd you Debbie...sorry!!!
Jungle Java or Great Lakes Crossing both sound like good ideas!!!
Which would you prefer???
I would offer my house for a play date, but it is WAY too small!!!!! I only dream of a bigger house!!!!!
Hello everyone!
(Thanks Amy for helping me find this group.)
We are in Waterford, not too far from Great Lakes Crossing.
I have two three year olds and a two year old. I would love to get them (and me) out of the house this winter!!

Hi All!
We are in Brighton. I'd love to know about any get together. Do all of you have your little ones home? Our Mia is 17 months and came home in Feb 2006. We just started the process for her biological sister born Dec 13 2006.
I am a birthmom in an open adoption. My "little one" is 22! I also am raising a 14 year old girl and an 11 year old boy. My daughter is an amazing babysitter, maybe I could talk her in to service at the zoo playground. You can never have too many hands and eyes.
The zoo playground, by the way, is very cool.

Sounds GREAT! With 2 three-year-olds, I can use all the hands and eyes I can get! They love the zoo playground, but tend to run in different directions!
Looking forward to meeting you and your children!
We're from Grand Blanc. Looks like there are quite a few of us that are pretty close!
