I guess I'll be the first to go! My name is Mandy and I'm from the southern suburbs of Chicago-Beecher (don't blink or you'll miss it!) I am a mother of 2 bio girls ages 3 and 6 months. My husband and I are just in the beginning stages of international adoption (choosing country and agency). So I am here looking for insight and support. I am excited to meet others in the area who are going through or have been through the international adoption process!

My husband and I are just starting the wait! We are going through an agency/independant adoption. We have placed ads in chicago and Indiana in local papers. We just finished our homestudy sessions and are awating for results. This agency has put us up on thier website and we have ads in the paper. If we were to get a call during the homestudy process the agency would put our approval process in high gear. We did get a emom call. Many flags were raised so we are not at all confident with this call. She was 7 weeks along, married and in her early 30's. She has 2 young children and is not working. WHat I took from this call was that I at least know people are answering ads, and now I know how it feels when the phone rings. :coffee:
Hi everyone! My husband and I adopted our daughter in 2006. She's a beautiful 3 year old that brings us joy every day. We're back on the list with our agency, hoping for a second adoption. We've been waiting for almost a year now, and I joined this community for support and encouragement. We live in Riverside, near Brookfield Zoo, and love our community. Our fingers are crossed...
