Our ababy is due in about one month and I'm considering breastfeeding. But, I don't know where to go for information and how to start.
I work at a high school so pumping every 2-3 hours before the baby is born isn't an option. But, I could probably pump every 4-5 hours.
Could someone point me in the right direction?
First, I would contact either an RE or OB/GYN and let them know of your wanting to b/f and see what meds they can give you to increase your milk supply.
Find a La Leche League support group near you. Their website can help you out there (that's what I did). Go to this website Ask Lenore ~ Home Page and type in "breastfeeding and induced lactation" for the list of protocols for inducing lactation and maximizing milk production.
Then, you can also try to find a lactation consultant in your area or at your local hospital and schedule an appt.
I'm just starting out too but not matched yet or anything, but I have a pretty good supply of milk already.
Good luck and blessings, Michelle

My friend Tana just did a series of blogs over here and has tons of info! There is a yahoogroup devoted to adoptive breastfeeding, too. As a side note, I like the Lact-Aid better than the SNS. :) Good luck!
