Schools can't spell, why should our kids?

This is a bit of a rant. My DD brought home a notice from school that they were selling lollipops for Valentines. No big deal, but they called them "LUV Pops". Being as she is a second grader, I try to get her to read as much stuff as she can, so I asked her to read the notice to me. Guess what? She gets to "LUV" and has a hard time. I told her it was love, and she gave me the funniest look, she knew that was not the right way to spell it. You would think that at the grade school level where you are trying to educate children, they could at least spell correctly instead of trying to put this cutesy spin on eveything. OK, I'm done now.
