I guess this in a new forum. My DH and I are starting our second adoption. This time we are using Catholic Social Services. Does anyone have any experiances to share? We are hoping to adopt a newborn girl. We have a fingerprint apointment next week, but since we live in Delta Junction, we have to send the cards into DPS in Anchorage. Christy :hippie:

Hello, my name is Michelle and my hubby and I are interested in adopting an AA infant. We were looking at CSS but not sure. any advice on which agency to use.? Has anyone used the foster care system.?
What is a home study.? again any advice on where to starte please let me know. Does CSS have a class to attend or just make an appointment?
Michelle
I hope my email answered your questions. We have just sent in our profile, so we are officially in the wait! I hope that we are ready, because it seems in my mind like it will be a while, but CSS is telling me that there have been many E-moms coming in lately and the pool was getting a little shallow, so fewer families in the pool of waiting families to me means greater chances of being matched. Wish us luck!!
We live in southeast Alaska and just had our homestudy completed by WACAP. We just also became certified to do foster care in Alaska. We are hoping to be able to adopt a group of young siblings (under 8 - hopefully with a baby under two in the group). We are also planning on doing foster care while waiting to be matched.
