Husband and I have house full of girls. We would like to add at least one boy to our family by adoption. We are in Missouri. Given our age, we are thinking we would want one over 5, but not yet a teen so that he would be here awhile. We contacted our local state DFS office 3 times now over last 3 months, but have never received a call back. What is our first step about getting a home study done? Does the state do them or do we use an agency? Where do we begin??
We have seen several boys or sibling groups on the website listed as being available that appear to be a good fit(one young man we even know personally)--we farm, tons of animals, lots of play room and several boys who say they want to be a farmer when they grow up. We respond on the link, but only get an automated reply that someone will contact us, and they never do.
What should we do to get a ball rolling?? So sad we want to love more, and they need love but the connections are not being made...
