lawyer Stanley Michelman - where did his files go?

I was adopted via private adoption in NY through Stanley Michelman. Stanley Michelman died a few years back. Does anyone here know where his files went? Is there another agency/lawyer that has been holding them since his passing? If you have any helpful information, please share! Thanks.
