I know it's probably a long shot, but since this community has so many members I figured I'd give it a whirl.
DH and I are US nationals who are seriously considering an expat position in India. DS just turned 2. Does anyone here have any experience with either the expat lifestyle or has anyone here traveled to India with their toddler?
I know there are a few books on the subject, and I plan to read them. But there's nothing compared to networking with other parents who have been there!

We are US nationals who live in England, and when we first moved here, we had three toddlers (who are now two toddlers and a pre-schooler).
It's been easy, but England is probably the easiest of countries for US nationals because it's so similar to the US, i.e. same language, similar ideas about schools and daycares, etc. What are your specific concerns about living abroad?
Best,
JE

I'm an expat living in Canada. And my kids are Canadian, arriving in my family after moving here. It is very similar to the US so I probably am not much help at all. I do have many American friends living and raising families in other places, including Europe, the Caribbean, East Africa, the Middle East and China. They speak of challenges that include education and safety for their children in those countries. India would definitely be a cultural transition for you and your kids.
