Today we go to court to finalize our adoption!:flowergift: Our daughter is 8 years old and was in foster care for 5 years. It has been a long hard adjustment, but we are finally here!
I have no idea what to expect in court. They said it will be upbeat and to bring a camera. Anything I need to know before we go?
Congratulations on finally arriving at adoption day!!! Ours happened Dec. 5th, 2006 and what an emotional rollercoaster ride it was (& still is). Yes, take lots of pictures because it's going to be over quick - once you get in to the judge's chambers. Basically we just waited for them to call us to the judge's chambers and once we got in - it was over. Took a total of maybe (30 minutes)...... I remember being excited and nervous because i didn't know what to expect. After the judge signed the papers, I was thinking that's it? But I had the biggest smile on my face and tears were flowing big time. It was one of the proudest moments in my life. I am so happy for you and Good Luck!

Thanks everyone! We had family and friends there. We only had one day notice about this, some error on the communication. Everyone knew but us!
I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. We didn't really have time to plan much and came home with a few people and had cheesecake. Tonight we went to eat pizza, just the 4 of us. We had a big party when she came to us 6 months ago, so this is all just icing on the cake.
