I just had to share this with everyone. We're working on counting with Nicholas. Here's the conversation this morning:Me: One. *holds up one finger*Nick: One. *holds up one finger*Me: Two. *holds up two fingers*Nick: FREE! *throws hands in air, laughs*He'll count to three, fingers and all, on occasion, but it seems like he greatly prefers the above conversation. He gets laughs and smiles which makes sense that he likes it because he's a HAM. In the meantime, I'm proud that he has made the connection that three comes after two. :) WOO!

My husband taught our two and half year old twins to count every night by counting the stairs. We also have the situation when I say... I am going to count to three or you will get time out... One (two and three come from their mouths with a big smile). Guess that idea isn't going to work.
Counting smiles... having identical twins we get lots of smiles out in the public. One of our favorite games is to count smiles and see how many people we made smile for the morning. :0)

Jessica is just starting to count as well. Three is always a favorite of hers although she is starting to say "two", "six", "eight", and "nine" at the right times when we count to ten with her. She has that fisher price pig that you put the coins in and she loves to put the coins in and count. I was amazed a few weeks ago when she started saying numbers other than three at the appropriate times. I can't believe how fast they learn at this age.
