You may remember a few months back, the frustration I was having trying to have DS baptized. (Thread "Why Does it have to be so hard") Anyway, I prayed and found peace but May 27 fast approached and finalization was/is still not done. I called the church again on the Tue to cancel, our Priest was on holidays and the Deacon said to give him one day before I cancel. He went to the diocese and the tribunal and on Wednesday he called me and said "It's in your Heart. Let's do it!"This is cool and quite significant to me; DS was born on the Feast of our Blessed Mother and was baptized on Pentecost Sunday. So I had 3 and a half days to plan a big party. This process was hard and I was going to celebrate this big day for DS!!!! (I can't even explain what DS's baptism represented to me. It was him becoming a child of God, bringing families together, finding a peace I never even knew, and so much more!)Anyway, we had a beautiful ceremony and a beautiful day. DS's Birthfamily came to celebrate this great day and for the first time DH's and my family met DS's birthfamily. We have a photo of everyone together and DS in the middle. I will put it in a frame in his room to show him always how loved he is! It was really wonderful. DS's birthfamily brought a tree to plant in our yard as a gift for our family to remember DS's baptism. So all worked out and it was wonderful and I just wanted to share! Thanks for the support you all offered and for just listening!Michelle

Oh my gosh! I cannot believe how special that day sounds! That they bought him a tree!!!!! Amazing. I bet that photo will be so wonderful to have... I keep our son's baptism photo (a shot of the priest pouring the water, w/ his godparents next to us) in our family room and love to look at it!!! I am SO glad you were able to make this all happen! Congratulations!
That sounds wonderful. I LOVE that they got a tree for him. How special! You have just inspired me about something----dh and I are chairing a fundraiser for our local Catholic Charities adoption agency in the fall (they use the money for birthmother expenses) The slogan is ROOTED IN LIFE, GROWING IN LOVE. I think I am going to look into having trees for sale! Congratulations---I am so happy this worked out for you.
