We're former foster parents and adopted our last two foster daughters. We're trying to have our girls' baby brother placed in our home as a foster-to-adopt placement. What do we need to have in place? We need to have fire extinguishers on every floor, knives put up high, chemicals up high, working smoking detectors. What else do we need to have before they come out to look at the house? Thanks!
Vet papers showing updated shots for any pets. Names, addresses, SS#'s and consent for anyone who lives with you or may spend considerable time with the kids. You might be able to get the consents ahead of time, usually not, then you fax them back.
Plug covers for your outlets, locks on your cabinet doors, like undersinks or where chemicals are stored.
That's about all I can think of...!
