Hi there!
We are getting closer on our adoption path and I have questions about the embassy in Nairobi. Has anyone processed a visa there before? I'd love to chat if you have BTDT.
TIA
HI...Actually I have the same question regarding the adoption process once we pick up our son in Rwanda. When you get any info I'd love to hear what you have found out. Thanks

We leave the 20th of Sept to bring our son home from Kigali, Rwanda. The trip to Kenya takes a solid 2 weeks (our friends just returned last week with 2 boys, so we have some idea now of what it will take). When you get there you have to go to the embassy to get a form for the dr. then head to the dr. office to make an appointment. Blood work has to be done with a turn around of about 3-4 days. Then you go back to the embassy and start the visa paperwork. They said to bring an umbrella becuase if it starts raining you will just stand in the rain and wait. They ended up very wet. Anyhow, take a copy of your proof of income and be ready for rude people. They were amazed at the rudeness. And they do not allow you to bring in your diaper bag, so you have to go outside to feed your baby while you wait many hours to be seen. UGH.
We are staying at the Hart House. It is $45 per person per day and it included breakfast and dinner. Run by a christian woman doing some amazing work.
I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out....feel free to email me with any other questions. We plan to be back Oct. 15th.
You wouldn't happen to be adopting a 15 month old boy, would you?
