This adoption has been anything but smooth. My DH had a 9:10 flight to Almaty, Kazakhstan via Frankfurt tonight. His flight was delayed and he took off two hours late. He probably will not make his connecting flight. I am in tears tyoing this because that means that he will not be at the train station to gt our son in Almaty. AND that could delay the medical appointment, embassy appointment, travel home. I am beside myself, and don't know what to do. I called Lufthansa and they said to call back in a few hours. They also said that they will put him on the next flight whether it is a Lufthansa one or not. Has that happened to anyone and if so, how much did you have to push to get put on another flight out of their airline? I explained the situation to the rep for the airline, but what can they do? Help!

Hi Michelle,I'm so sorry for you!!!! ((hugs)) to you!!!!!! I really understand how difficult and what a critical part of this journey is, and I sympathize with your DH. Has he tried explaining, showing the Embassy appt. letter,etc.. to the airline and usually, if it's critical, etc.. the airline will try to put them on the next flight. And you can try explaining to the medical, Embassy (even if you don't have an appt. )after DH reaches there????/ And another idea is, can you call or e-mail the Embassy (the USCIS) here and explain to them and to ask them what's to be done????? Good luck, and praying that everything works out and DH is back home with your son soon!!!!!

He was late enough that he missed the next two flights to Almaty and the last one was cancelled. They did put him up in a hotel for the night, but unfortunately lost his luggage for the day as well. He left the next day and thankfully the other woman that was there to get her son (we were together for the first trip) watched ours until Don got to the apartment.
