Hi Everybody!
or as they say here... Hey y'all!
We are the proud parents of a bright young man who has been with us for eight of his nine years.
We live in North Texas/DFW area and are interested in meeting up with other families of like kind. We would like our son to see there are other families like ours, other than those at our Heritage camp in Colorado once a year! Our goal is to meet with, laugh with, and commiserate with others on a regular basis.
We would like to have picnics, see shows, go to sporting events, etc...
Our son is African American, and we would really enjoy meeting other similar families, but at this point I think all transracial families could use some networking. We are not a 'churchy' family, (yet), so this is our main method of networking with others.
If interested, please send a note or contact us somehow. I'm new at this blogging thing so bear with me. Thanks.
Wow! What a great idea!
I am also in the D/FW area and am currently fostering - no adoption yet. However, since I am open to any race, and my agency specializes in aa children, AND my two current fcs are aa I would be very interested!
pm me with your info!

I'm not in, but near DFW. We have 3 other transracial adoptive families in our church, and I know of another family who attends the same Mother's Day Out program as us.
This sounds fun!
Thanks to all who responded!
In order to get this off the ground, let's have a picnic/playtime on August 4 at 4:00pm. I found on the net a great place for the kids. It's Armstrong Park Kidsville in Duncanville. We are planning on just picking up some KFC or similar. No prep, no cleanup!! life is great!
Love to see you all there! If you know other families, drag 'em along too.
Thanks!
