Childrens parks

When you take your children to the park do you take them to a city park or a neighborhood park? Is a small neighborhood park within walking distance more fun or do your children prefer going to a big park with lots of playground equipment? Do you feel one is maintained (more safe) better than the other? Why?

I find with my children they love a slide and space to run. We have a small neighborhood park just 2 blocks from our house and its alot of fun to walk over to the park and have a small picnic and then have the kids run and play.

For my kids, a park is a park. Whether it is big and fancy or small with not much more than a swing and a slide it is a a special treat to be savored.

We have a city park not far from us. It is huge and I helped "build" it when it was under construction. I can remember thinking, while I was sanding down all those boards, that one day, I would have a child to bring to that park. Now I have 2, and they love it! ;)
