Hello to all of you. I have spent time reading through all of the messages posted here and my heart is breaking for you. You are all in my prayers and thoughts. My husband and I returned from FL last week heartbroken and discouraged after a failed adoption or "reclaim" as the professionals call it. Our birthmother (we were matched before our homestudy was completed) changed her mind 1 hour prior to the scheduled placement. We are devastated. We never got to hold or even see the baby but that child has been in our hearts since the day we were matched. We are trying to stay positive and focused on our future and realizing that our baby is out there and God will bring him to us in His time. In the mean time, we seek the support and comfort of others, offer support and comfort to others (I run an adoption meetup group in North Carolina) and we continue to look for ways to become involved in the adoption process in a positive way.
Wishing you all the best-
Georgia

Georgia, I am sorry for your loss but you are correct God has a specific child in mind for your family. You are in my prayers.
Georgia, most of us have had much disappointment along the adoption path. But I doubt that ANY of us would trade the child(ren) that came into our families in the end. You will feel the same way. Soon, I hope. In the meantime, feel free to grieve your loss and trust that the rainbow comes after the rain.
