What are your stress relievers? Can you add to the list?
Personally I need and I mean NEED to be creative in some way.
I usually quilt or draw or even do some sort of needlework.
I find if I don't find the time for that, I feel more stressed!
I also get stressed out when I start to run out of projects so I make sure to have plenty on hand.
SHOE SHOPPING! (ok maybe not the best) but a lot of us use retail therapy...
And talking talking talking. Facing the demons helps.

haha quantum! The first thing I thought was shoe shopping too! And I KNOW I speak on behalf of Roni for that one too!!!
That, and I read. By myself. Anywhere. Ahhh....(can I leave work now to try out some of these??)
If I may intrude into your forum........ I love these kinds of threads!
1. sweatshirt, shorts, football game, wicked hot chicken wings and an amber colored effervescent adult beverage :cheer:
2. read a book, and I don't mean ANY version of The Three Little Pigs (we have a toddler)
3. hot tub and a burgundy colored well aged adult beverage and some extra sharp cheddar cheese :eyebrows:
4. a long, fast bike ride :moped:
5. fire - campfire, fireplace, fire pit, candles, fireworks :fan:
6. driving my big Dodge Ram on any of the following - mud, ice, snow, dirt, sand dunes, wooded trails (ok, there aren't any wooded trails big enough for my Magnum) or anything else that requires 4 wheel drive :drive:
7. episodes of The Closer :cop:
8. going to Mass :wings:
9. playing with DD
10. did I mention football? :rockband:
JP, do I detect a football fan??? I am so crazy ready for football season to start!!!
Your number one was RIGHT up my alley down to the wings and choice of beverage!
Screaming at the top of my lungs during a storm at the deserted beach.
Screaming at the top of my lungs in my back yard.

-Going to the beach
-Driving with the top down and BLARING the radio (or just thinking!)
- Curling up on the couch with a blanket and some scented candles, turning off my mind and watching some mind numbing TV
-And DEFINITELY retail therapy with nice Starbucks latte in hand :)
My #1 stress/anxiety reliever in the summer is going outside to prune and water (and play with and photograph!) my flowers. I don't know why but it's the most relaxing thing I can do in the summer. Love it.
Alright here's my list:
- a venti tea misto from Starbucks
- actually any beverage containing caffiene
- reading
- knitting, sometimes, as long as the pattern isn't too hard
- eating but then after I finish eating, I usually end up feeling guilty ;)
- singing in my car
- cuddling with my hubby
Me, too. We're leaving in the morning for Chiefs - Saints tomorrow night at Arrowhead. I'm NFC-Bears, AFC-Chiefs. DH is NFC-Saints, AFC-Jets. And yes, all four of our teams made the playoffs last year. WooHoo!

J-E-T-S!!!
(tho that causes more stress in my house since my sweetie is an emotional die hard fan, I love football and I tend to leave the house when the Jets are losing, the emotional outbursts from my normally mellow guy gets me anxious, LOL!)
Oh yeah, and I forgot I like to clean when I have a lot on my mind, preferably scrubbing the kitchen or the bathroom, it helps me think :)
We were at Arrowhead a couple of years ago when the Chiefs beat the Jets!!!!! Oh, yeah. Unfortunately that was also the game that Chad Pennington got hurt. DH got a lot of sympathy beads to go with his Jets jersey on the way out of the stadium.
I was very relaxed.
In fact, I find winning very relaxing. Losing can be relaxing too if I feel like I left it all on the field.
I am crazy die-hard Colts fan so last year was quite good for me :)
I live in Cali and flew out to Indy for the AFC championship game last season - man that was great.
I'll be so happy in a couple weeks when real games start! And I agree, a nice win is soooo relaxing!
