Need your help ladies...
OK, I have a 2 yr old and am WELL AWARE of the issues of wanting to be independent and also that at this age, they can be picky. But here is the HUGE (lol) list of foods that DS will eat:
waffles
cheerios
hot dogs
chicken nuggets
french fries
corn
crackers
fruit-only apples, grapes and sometimes strawberries
Really now, for like the last 3 weeks or so, I swear, this kid is having 2 bites, of anything TOTAL, for the entire day. He does NOT drink juice hardly so I know it's not that. He does do milk but again, we're talking maybe 3 cups a day.
We're stumped! We've tried the "look, momma and dada are eating it too" to get him to try something, the take 2 bites and you can go deal, ignoring it, etc.
I do make pot roast and mashed potatoes 1x/week b/c he gobbles that every time I make it.
I don't think it's a sensory thing b/c he does eat hard things like chips and crackers and popsicles.
I'd buy a cookbook about "hiding" stuff in food but how can you hide things in hot dogs? Or corn? Or apples?
I was holding him and his little shoulders even feel real bony!
HELP!

does he like juice? I give my dd V8-splash for juice once, sometimes twice per day. (2nd time I dilute). I also give her a multi-vitamin (polyvisol) in morning milk.
that helps with her nutrition. As far as fat...
Have you tried ice cream?
Putting butter on waffles and all veggies?
My friend is dealing with issues about her toddler being very skinny (despite having a good appetite), so I have heard about advice teh nutritionist gave her to try. She had some good recipes for "milkshakes" or smoothies that had like 500 or more calories, and her boys loved them.
