I am new to the group, and was hoping that someone could share their experience with adopting in IL - metro STL area. I am also in the St. Louis metro area and would love the same information. My wife and I decided about 9 months ago that we were going to adopt. In that time, we've looked at both domestic and international adoption. We both feel overwhelmed!!!
We have been looking at international adoption because were were told that it's easier and that there's less "red tape". However, we're looking at children ages 3-6 and I told my wife that there are many children here in the US that also need loving families.
Is the DCFS as bad as I've heard? I've love to hear some stories and recommendations based on others experiences.

I would advise not to go with Lutheran Child & Family Services. I have heard the CHASI is a good agency and Catholic Charities is ok.
