Even if you have no personal relationship with foster care adoption, which is what the month focuses on, there are many ideas on here that help celebrate adoption in general. No matter what type of adoption you do, it's fun to celebrate with others involved and spread the word! Positive messages surrounding ALL of our kids...that's something to celebrate indeed!
If anyone has anything to share that would give others ideas, please feel free to post!

I'm giving friends of ours who foster children a card. They're an amazing family and they deserve some recognition.
Other than that, until the President recognizes birth parents in his proclomation for the month, I won't be doing anything else. (I understand the month is mainly about raising awareness about the many children waiting but it still smarts. I try, every year, not to let it smart. It still smarts.)
So, recognizing our friends is about all I can do.

That's a great idea Jenna. I think I will attempt to follow your lead and give my birth/adoptive/foster parent friends a card thanking them for their contribution to adoption.
I like the idea of planning a scrapbook event with members of the triad. I know the birthparent support group I go to had a joint meeting with the adoptive parents group and we did a scrapbooking night. It was great fun and a way to connect and build bridges.
