I thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite memories of our kids prayers.
I can still remember my oldest son's first "spontaneous" prayer. He was not quite 2 yet. He was sitting next to me playing with his cars and he said, "Mommy, let's stop and pray." So I said ok.
He bowed his little head and said, "Dear God, thank you for motorcycle, car, utter car, utter car, and utter car. In Jesus name, amen." :D I thought my heart would just melt!
My youngest son's first prayers wasn't quite as understandable, but this is what I got out of it:
"Dear God, thank you for Daddy safe at our house, Mommy safe at our house, J safe at our house, and J(himself) safe at our house." There was a whole lot more to it, but I couldn't understand it all. He had some speech problems back then.
Now, my 6 yr old will ask me to pray for him when he's scared. He was so sweet yesterday, he kept stopping and praying for the people in California.
Both of my boys always want to say a prayer at meal time, so we usually have at least 2 prayers before each meal. ;)
My girls are both loving prayer time - so we, too, have two prayers at mealtimes. The funniest thing is, instead of "God, I thank you..." - it comes out "God, I help you..." We keep correcting, but it keeps coming out the same way. Ah well...I'm sure God understands what they're saying.

How sweet!
I always imagine God smiling down on us like we smile at the things our kids do. I mean, sometimes, even the foolish things, you know?
I love hearing their prayers! I have one son who thanks God for the porch, sidewalk, silverware. You know, things we take for granted and he is thankful for.
I love the thought of God smiling on us as his kiddos...
My son is not quite old enough to pray yet, although he points to the crucifix and says "jeezzsss", so I guess that is his prayer.
But my nephew, when he was 6, learned a prayer before meals at school that is in french and is sung, then at 8 he learned one in english that is sung. Soo, we usually say grace, then he says "my turn", then "one more!" So now we usually say grace 3 times! And that is just one kiddo. I can just imagine when my ds and my other nephew get bigger!

Not quite a whole prayer, but pretty darned cute:
I was driving my nephew to Disneyland right when he turned five and I heard him mumbling from his carseat.
Me: J what are you doing?
J: I'm praying to God.
Me: About what?
J: About the pirate ride.
Me: What about it?
J: I'm kinda scared to go on it.
Me: What did you tell God?
J: That I was scared. But he told me to be a brave boy and go on it for you.
! He is the sweetest boy ever!! Praying about Disney rides!!!
