I am gathering information and trying to find out about all of the different adoption agencies out there. Not sure if we will adopt waiting children from the foster care system or from Ethiopia or Haiti.
Can anyone PM me with your experience working with Gladney (domestic or int'l) and/or the ABC program? Is there a long wait with the ABC program? I couldn't figure out from the website if birthmothers still choose the adoptive parents. I can't imagine that there are infants in foster care simply because there are not enough people interested in adopting an AA or bi-racial baby.

I am not familiar with the agencies you mentioned. However I believe the number of infants available for adoption directly from foster care varies on the state you are in. In PA, there are very few infants available directly for adoption from foster care. The infants that are available often have major health problems. Many infants in the PA foster care system are adopted by their foster parents. PA pushes hard for reunification. Still, there is a big need for foster parents and forever families for children at-risk. I heard that around half the children at my agency are adopted by their foster parents.
