We have three adopted children from Guatemala and our oldest is 5 this Chrismas.
His school (Christian School) has been talking about helping others this Christmas that don't have anything. They have been collecting toys for the Toys for Tots and also making gift boxes for the missions to send overseas for those less fortunate. My son, Nicolas has really gotten into this and we have been talking alot about the children in Guatemala. He suggested to sell his old toys in a garage sale to make money to send to the kids that have nothing.
My DH and I decided he was old enough and we are going to allow him to help us choose a child to sponsor in Guatemala. :prop: He is very excited to be able to continue to support a child from the country he was born in. :earth:
Here's the thing, as I am looking online at all the different organizations, I don't know which one to go with. I think I have narrowed it down to World Vision and Compassion International. Christian Childrens Fund looked like a great one too - but they don't have a program in Guatemala.
If anyone has used World Vision or Compassion could you please PM me with your experience with them? Or, I you have experience with one I did not mention that you think I should look into, I would be glad to here that too.
Thanks in advance :)
Awww, what a sweet child you are raising! I am glad he has compassion for others.

I just started sponsoring a child using Children's International, but I don't know if they are any good yet.
