Hello,
I usually post on the Colombia part of the forums, but today had a quiet moment during nap time to check out this part. My husband and I have a (almost) 3 year old daughter and a 19 month old son who were both adopted from Colombia (Ayudame) at the age of 4 months. Our daughter was adopted in June of 2005 and our son in October of 2006. We are currently in the process of adopting an unidentified sibling group of 2-3 children up to age 10 from Colombia.
I am also an adult adoptee through a closed, domestic adoption. When I was 21, I searched for my birth lady and received her address from the Department of Health. After 4 years of writing letters we met only once and have continued writing letters about once a year ever since. I am thankful for my adoption. It was, in every way, a blessing to me.
My husband and I have started an orphan minstry at our church and have recently started an adoption support group for the northern part of our metro area. Adoption is something we are passionate about and I always excited to share our experiences with others.
I hope to be able to check in on this forum more often and learn from each of you.
Blessings,
Megan
