Hi there, I have been researching my options and last year I had ruled out using Catholic Charities, but am rethinking them. I am 46, single (divorced and no annullment), and am wondering if anyone else has successfully adopted thru the church? Also, so you know if there are good probabilities of getting a baby with Catholic Charities?
Thanks
Margaret
Poobail congratulations on your decision to adopt. The road will be tough at times but the end result will be so worth the wait. Good luck in your journey and keep us posted.

I used Catholic Charities to adopt Maire-Kate when I was 33. I was single (no divorces). It wasn't a problem at all. It was VERY affordable. The diocese I was in charged a flat fee of $1200 which included the homestudy. Over all, it came to about $2000 total for a baby. The charge was regardless of race-but the waiting list for a caucasian or hispanic baby was much longer than for a black or bi-racial baby. I would have used them again in 2005 but their program was full.
