Ok... I've wallowed in angst and self-pity long enough. Who has a good thought, memory, story to tell of your holiday?
MIne: watching my 3 year old grandson playing with the toys he got for Christmas.
Last Christmas was lovely. I had my son and his parents over for Christmas. Very low key (for me... there's 35+ in my immediate family.), now yelling to have yourself heard, etc.

This Christmas I got a card with a picture of my bson and his family on it.. They looked so darn happy..
And last Christmas I got a book of them.. all happy..
But the best thing of all is that I sent one of they boys this terrible toy from the National Geographic site..
It was a megaphone speaker thing.. that changes your voice..
He sent me a card.. (it was cut at the top.. what joy) and in that card he wrote.. "Thank you so much for the mega phone it is so much fun."
He is nine years old.. and I bet he drove them all nuts.. and had a wonderful time doing it..
Such a nice nice feeling.. not that he drove them nuts.. but that he liked my gift..
My real time immediate family memory that is happy is playing Trivial Pursuit with my second and third born (all grown up) after the turkey has been eaten.. and all my Christmas baking work had been done..

My positive holiday memory for this year was watching my 17 year old son, speechless, over receiving his dream gift. I think he was almost in tears. I will remember that forever
