We just received word that we have been assigned to Karaganda and should be traveling sometime in February!! Our agency has only worked in Kaz for about 2 years. We will be their first couple in Karaganda. Has anyone been there recently? Does anyone know of any adoption blogs from that area? Any information will be appreciated.
Hi, and congratulations! I was in Karaganda from late November through mid December, adopting from Shapagat (formerly Mylutka). My blog address is Is it Niamh or is it Daniel? and my email is jeanninemull00@optonline.net. Please feel free to email me directly with any questions you have, and good luck!

Dogsled - We submitted our dossier to our agency on June 18th. It took longer than we expected to get to this point, but we trust that things will work out in the end.
Jeannine - We have been following your blog for the last several weeks. Noelle is absolutely beautiful!! If I remember right, you should be returning to Kaz in the next week or so to bring your wonderful daughter home! I can't even imagine how excited you must be!!
Thank you for the email address; I'm sure we will be contacting you with a lot of questions as we get closer to traveling.
We went to Karaganda for both of our sons (2000 and 2007). We liked it both times and if you have any questions feel free to send me a pm. Our blog is in my signature, we just traveled in May and July.
Best of luck!
Maegan - Thank you. Patti and I really enjoyed following your blog while you were in Kaz. It was our first topic of conversation when we came home from work! Sometimes, if there was an especially cute picture (most days) or some exciting news, I would call her up at work and read it to her! Taylor is so beautiful! The three of you make a wonderful family!
Michelle - I just read through your blog and it appears that we are neighbors (we live in Rotterdam). It must have been a great experience for you and Don to be able to bring Zachary and Poppy on your trip! Alex is adorable and looks like he is full of personality!! There is also no question that Zachary will take good care of his little brother! Thank you for sharing your blog with us!

Congrats! I am in Karaganda right now. It's cold. I mean like 40 below, you go numb in moments cold. The locals are even complaining about it. Dress warmly!

I brought my daughter home from Karaganda in June of 07. If you'd like to e-mail me privately I'd be happy to talk to you if you'd like.
Here's a recent picture of my Karaganda cutie. She's 15 months.

The baby house is very well taken care of and the kids are loved and most of them are very healthy.
Have a great trip!!
