She was born in Pittsburgh, PA through Rosila Foundling and Maternity Hospitial and adopted 09/28/1964 through Family and Children's Services in Pittsburgh (I think no longer in existance). She was given the birth name of Jacqueline Marie Vaughan, but I am sure the adoptive parents changed her name. Please contact if anyone has any information about her @ ASCrowell@comcast.net

I found this msg. after I had posted a reply to your earlier post. So with your sister being born at Roselia you should write the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill. They hold the records to the birth upto 1970. Who you write to is- Sister Grace Hartzog, SC she is the Secretary of the Province and Custodian of Roselia Birth Records. The address is- Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, Administrative Offices, DePaul Center, 463 Mt. Thor Road, Greensburg, PA 15601-1293
When I wrote to her I told her as much information that I had (which wasn't much as I didn't have a birthdate, sex or anything that could help). She wrote back to me saying that it was possible that my mother did have another child. However, before she could release any information she had to have a notarized letter from me with my requests in writing. I did that and soon to follow I received a copy of the file on my half-sister giving alot of the details of the story of my mother's stay there. The most important information was that I got an actual birthdate and the county that my half-sister was relinquished to. Finding out that Roselia was the maternity home where my mom was at was the piece of the puzzle that finished putting everything in place. Good luck and don't give up, my ending has been so worth the search, though mine did not take as long as you have been searching. Hopefully you will hear from PaFind soon, everyone on that list was so helpful.

Hi Patty, I did all that you said back in 1993. I got the original birth certificate. I had more information when I started since my sister and I share the same mother. After that, I had my mother waive her rights to confidentality in case she comes searching for us. I stopped searching after that on the request of my mother. My mother recently passed away knowing that I would once again search for her again after her passing. Being that PA has sealed records, it's been a dead halt from here. I do have someone searching for her that may possibly get in the back door and I have written a letter to Vital records asking them to forward a letter to her or her adoptive parents asking them to contact me if they wanted to or were able to contact. I don't know if they will do that, but it was worth a try. I am not even sure if she knows she is adopted or knows about me. That's the best I have been able to do so far. I will never give up my search. I will keep searching as long as I am able to do so. Patty, thanks for all your help. I do hope as well, PAFind contacts me. That may be the missing link to finding my sister.
Thanks again,
Sheri Crowell
