Hi everyone
i am doing some research into the psychological effects of adoption as part of a project i am putting together- i chose this because i was adopted from the age of 6 weeks and i am interested to find out if there is anyone who has similar feelings to me, i have issues with things like trust, fear of rejection and identity and i am trying to discover if this is a common trait within adopted adults.
I have read the book by nancy verier and various other books but i would like to get some first hand opinions both positive and negative, so that i can use them within my research. If anyone is willing to share their experiences by answering a short questionaire i would be very gratefull if they could contact me. my email is ericamackay21@gmail.com . or if you just want to let me know what you think that would be great!
Thanks guys and keep smiling
yes I FELL THE SAME WAY i WAS ADOPTED AT BIRTH AND CONSTANTLY FEEL LIKE i DONT KNOW WHO i AM OR WHY i HATE BEING ALONE AND OR FEELINGS OF ABANDOMENT..I BELIEVE IT DOES COME FROM BEING ADOPTED

Adoption is very tricky. There are a lot of complicated emotions by everyone involved. It can be hard not to let it get to you, but it also gives you skills that you probably wouldn't otherwise have access to.
It took 33 years for me to realize why, but I have always been painfully shy, with major rejection fears, mainly with woman. That was what ultimately led me to searching, after a failed relationship. So I do think there is something to that.
Please take some time to fill out my survey on adoption for my doctoral research. The link is below.
