My name is sonja halley. My birth name was Christinia Marie Teets and my birth mothers name was Dedra may Teets. At least that is the info I had. I would like to contact any of the family to find out the medical history, not only for myself but for my children and grandchildren. I understand if they do not want to talk to me for whatever reason. But if you could just send me the info it would be greatly appreciated. I am nto trying to intrude in your lives. However I would like to say thank you for doing what you thought was best for me. I was blessed with a wonderful mother and father. We lived on a farm and traveled a lot. I have great childhood memories of that time. My Dad is gone now and I miss him dearly. My parents never kept anything from me or my brother about our adoption. Ya know I have kind of a funny story about that. When we were little we each had our own cow. We named them and played with them. One day my brother ask my dad what adoption ment. Dad said to us, you see that cow over their with that baby calf? Yes we replied, you know the mommy of that baby calf died and it didnt have a mommy to take care of it, yes we replied. He said, so that cow took that baby calf as her own baby to take care of until it grows up, yes we replied. He said, that is what adoption is. That cow adopted that calf like me and your mom adopted you and your brother, you didnt have a mommy or a daddy to take care of you so we took you as our own to love and take care of. Now that I am older I think that is the best description of adoption I have ever heard. He explained it to us in terms we could understand.

dear sonja - i am reading posts 'all over the forums' tonight and came across yours. i just wanted to tell you NOT to give up. Miracles do happen. I had to relinquish parental rights to my baby girl at birth simply because I was unable to provide for her. that was back in 1965 - an era when there was no hope for the single pregnant woman. I pray that you and your birthmom will one day find each other. My birthdaughter did a Search for me that lasted more than 2 years - we were just reunited within the past 6 months...so as I said..MIRACLES DO HAPPEN. God bless. And I loved your analogy with the calf and the birthmom story. Very sweet.

Sonja--you have great info--much more than a lot of folks. Post it on every site you can find. Good Luck!!! AND send it to your birth states registry. I think all states have a registry.
