my DS is 2.5 and he always says GO. He greets a person entering the room GO points to the bird on the bird feeder GO. He can talk well but has quirks when revealing how good he can speak. He refuses to say three and he knows it bugs us when we count he will say two forever. Ex. 1 1 2 2 3 2 3 2 3 2 4 4 and on and on he will say 13 or 33 but not 3. And he will smile at you and say twoooo. Or we have tried 1 1 2 2 4 4 5 5 3 3 6 6 7 7 8 8 9 9 if we skip it and say it later he will say it and not realize it. Also I was getting him to say tree "birdy in the tree" but when he realized it sounded like three no "tree" either. But what bugs me the most is the GO and he will run up to you give you a hug and say GO. I have tried getting him to say hello or look but it is not working.

I'd be inclined to ignore it, as it sounds like he's just trying to get a rise out of you. Or, you can try a little humor. When H is being obstinate, I'll joke with him, ask him silly questions (do your dogs go to tumbling class with you?), say the opposite (go! Stop! No! Yes!), declare it upside down or backwards time (climbing where I don't want him to means it's time to walk on hands or travel upside down), if he refuses to get dressed, I'll pretend to put his socks on my ears, etc. It usually works. He gets so excited about correcting me that he'll end up doing what I wanted.
