I hope you all have survived the ice and snow and sleet and freezing rain. we are close to Springfield, the roads were just horrible yesterday and they called off school again today, arghhh...
Does anyone have any new placements? if so how is that going?
We are in a suburb of St. Louis and have had ice and snow. The last two days have been snow days so with Monday being a holiday we have had 2 days of school this week. No new placements, still waiting for the phone to ring. We did have one call, but the kids were in Kansas City and the CW didn't realize we were in St. Louis. Our girls are on their first weekend visit this weekend. Monday should be fun around here!

I have a question for you, I noticed in your signature that you had a 6yr old that was moved to a residential home, can I ask what the reasons were?
I am not asking to be nosy at all, I have a 6yr old that I am starting to worry about, she was sexually abused (severly) and is starting to have some disturbing behaviors.
I love her so much but I am not sure that I can help her in the way that she needs to be helped..
Don't feel bad about asking. That's why we are all here; to share our stories and help each other. Our 6 yo was prone to extremely violent tantrums. She would hit or pull her sisters' hair anytime she got angry with them. When we corrected her it would turn into a 3 hour tantrum each time where she was hitting and kicking me and destroying everything in her room. If we came down the steps she would throw things at us (one day it was a bowling ball) and if we stayed outside her room she hit us and kicked us. She tried to break the second story window of her room to run away and threatened to kill us with a knife multiple times. We decided it wasn't fair to her sisters or ourselves to continue the way we were. It was the hardest decidison we ever had to make. And we had to make it twice with her!!!!!!

Feel free to ask any more questions or ask for more details!
