She said they walk you through the paperwork and do alot of hand-holding. I'm keeping in contact with her as I may consider them when we start adoption #2 paperwork next summer. Vietnam is going through some major changes in the near future and I want to consider Cambodia. Let me know if you hear anything! My email: bawmsw@yahoo.com Peoria, Illinois

Originally Posted By MandiWe used Reaching Out & just returned from Cambodia with our daughter, Serey is the in-country coordinator there (a very nice man with an efficient program). As with our first international adoption (Russia, 1998) I am feeling a little overwhelmed by the whole experience at this point (we have been home less than a week). However, the trip, though grueling, was worthwhile---the country is unbelievably poor & the people gracious & memorable. We were told by an official we met on the return trip that there are thousands of orphans needing homes & the country intends to remain open so they can be adopted. Our daughter is developmentally on target (11 mos) & adjusting to not having the attention of a 24 hr nanny. There were many adopting families in the Hotel Cambodiana, the children were all cute & healthy-looking. I highly recommend this comfortable hotel, we did use the clinic it has downstairs. Our driver was great, always there when he said he would be, took good care of us (I traveled with another woman from work so my husband could stay home with our other children). As with all international adoption there were ups & downs & some surprises but overall things went according to plan. I would use Reaching Out again. And I would adopt from Cambodia again----this country has been through so much---some of what we saw there made us cry, we feel like we are at least making a difference to one of their children. If anyone has more specific questions you can reach me @ jsmsg9@cs.com. Best of luck in your journey---it's worth it in the end!
