New member in the West Jordan area

I am new to all this internet lingo and forums, but am wanting to speak with others in the community about adoption. We currently have a 3 year old daughter that we adopted at birth and are trying to do an independant adoption this time. It seems we are getting quite a few hits on our site and a few contacts as well for the month that we have been signed up. I am very skeptical of the scams that are out there as we have been contacted by a few our selves from Africa. I am wanting to find out if there is anyone in UT that has gone through adoption.com and had great success. We had a (so I thought) legitimate contact about a week ago through IM for 3 hours. We exchanged phone #'s and all our information and we were completley comfortable with the bmom. When we tried to call the number she gave us we were told after several attempts, that there was no one there by that name and to stop calling. So now I am weary that they are all scams, even though I read all the success stories out there. Is it normal to feel this way or should we just give up and go back to an adoption agency. Please help.... we are feeling really down and depressed after this whole incident. And again I would love to just be able to talk to some local people here in UT who are going or have gone through similiar situations.:coffee:
